My my, an anime that has left me utterly speechless. In my opinion, it is the greatest story that I’ve ever experienced. It truly is in a league of it’s own. If you’re looking for a good comedy anime, you’ve found the right place, but it also does have some of the best drama and serious arcs along with the most heartwarming, & heartbreaking moments. You will absolutely have multiple episodes where you’re laughing til you have tears down your face and within the same episode you’ll have actual tears replacing them....all within a 23 minute time span. Honestly Gintama’s story is just about a broken man trying to help others regardless of who they are and their past, & through helping others... no one has realized that the very person helping everyone while putting his life on the line...he too needed to be saved. After opening up an odd jobs, Gin becomes a father figure to two kids who are the glue to helping him find his purpose. Like I said, in my opinion it’s the greatest story I’ve ever read. The comedy is HILARIOUS, the openings/endings & soundtrack SLAP, even the side characters are exceptionally well written (especially the female cast!!!) but overall Gintama’s main theme always comes back to its root concept of humanity. That’s why I think I feel so connected to the characters, the humor, the suffering, the bonds...out of any shonen I have watched/read, Gintama really feels the most human... and after watching 367 episodes and 704 chapters... Sorachi truly does make you feel part of the Yorozuya. I will never stop recommending this series!!!
