The Stand is one of my favorite books, and I was looking forward to this for a long time. I have to say I’m enjoying this adaptation so far. Unlike other reviewers, I have no issue with casting or changes to the storyline. In fact, I really do like the casting of Randall Flagg much better in this one. However, the non-linear approach... The constant bouncing back and forth in time is distracting. I don’t the idea of using flashbacks in storytelling, but this is excessive and makes the storyline harder to follow. It is the what is keeping me from giving a higher rating.
