Worst Miyazaki movie by far and literally one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I felt like it was my duty to watch it as a hard core Miyazaki fan, but now I regret ever seeing it. I want those 2 hours of my life back. It was so dull, I kept checking my watch to see how close I was to being able to leave the theater. Like what was that? What did I even just watch? It was like seeing a fever dream/nightmare in anime form.

If you read the book and loved it like I did, dont expect to love show. Joe Hill is an amazing writer. Why mess with a good thing? The show is only very loosely based on the book. It has some of the main characters and the general plot is the same, but it leaves out a lot of what gives the book and its characters depth and meaning. The show is like drinking orange juice from concentrate versus fresh squeezed. Its basically the same thing, just a processed version that doesnt taste as good.
