I play this with a cordless Quest 2 headset. The free custom songs from the synthriderz web site give this game endless playability - There is no need for complicated mods in the software to load songs - just copy to the custom songs directory and it's good to go.
Synth riders has more intuitive and flowing movements compared to the whack a mole motions of Beat saber. If you want to get a real workout you can use force mode and master level of difficulty. I prefer the dance choreo but the type of moments vary depending on what is the style adopted by the song mapper from song to song. If you don't like the movements of one song just don't pick that map author in the future. There's plenty of variety available.
I've been playing for over a year now and it doesn't get old. With the new Spiral mode my legs get a decent workout too (using a skiiing lean to steer toward notes) As an added bonus the "Experience" songs are a real trip - it's like being in a psychedelic James Bond credit sequence from the inside. This is my go to game whenever I have time to go into VR. The other apps are good but Synth Riders is the one I have to play. The Developrs just keep on making this game better and better.
