As someone who was there then and now, this album represents what the San Francisco sound was all about. Folkie, hard rock, dance music without pretentious. My roommate was a partner in a bar on Haight and Hot Tuna ( Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Cassidy) dropped in from time to time to jam unannounced. The had a house on Fulton Street a half mile away. The bands then were all 100% about music and zero attitude. The Airplane, the Dead, Janis, Moby Grape, Sly Stone, Santana represent a musical experience unlike any other. Listen and enjoy.
