I watched the first HBO Episode last night with great expectations and could not believe ; in my opinion, how terrible this remake is. It was pointless, senseless, poorly written and set in the early 30's which really added to the lack of excitement. The story was disjointed; hard to follow and jumped around to senseless themes of a broken down wanna be PI living in squalor. I cannot believe the great reviews from the critics. Wow really? Perhaps they are all suffering from severe Pandemic stress or memory lapse of what makes up a great series. Bring back Raymond Burr!

Watched this tonight on Netflix and was really disappointed. The movie had no real foundation that really defined the who; why and the reason the reporter was so involved in the Contra deal. Everything was vague and poorly portrayed.
