As someone who always hopes that she won’t have to say the book was better, the book was better. If you’re going to bring a book or series to life, follow it. It gives you a blueprint to everything. Most disappointingly was the gypsies, who had roots despite their entire life and backstory (real or fictional) always saying they didn’t put down roots. I also didn’t like Ms. Caltor- who in the books was a fantastic representation of feminism at it’s darkest. In the show, unbelievable and unsexy.
