I actually watched all 10 episodes (or "chapters") so my review will be based on Season 1 as a whole.
I'm not sure what to think. I like the idea of a "darker" Sabrina, but as a wiccan I'm conflicted as the majority of people, especially younger people, may think that all witches worship and devote their life to Satan, and get us confused with satanists or that all witches perform black magick.
However, I did enjoy it from a fantasy POV. I'm the type of person who sadly likes the whole "sacrifice your relationships with your family for the people you truly love" plot. If you're not into that, then you probably won't like this. There were a few parts where she actually performed spells, but I'm expecting season 2 to have way more of that. It's a slow start I suppose.
What I didn't like about it is the sound effects. The visuals were great 99% of the time. But when it came to sound fx, like screaming or the dogs barking/snarling/growling, it was overused stock that has been used in plenty of different shows. Not only that, but when they were at a certain part where there are screams repeatedly going on - as to not spoil a part of the show for anyone, the stock screams repeated. As in, I heard 2 different screams repeated 3 times. It would have been better if they at least got different scream packs so they didn't have to repeat them, or been original about it and recorded their own.

In the last episode, I do believe it was, it was poorly written. When the ms Wardwell summoned the 13 witches, she said that they would have an hour to roam the earth, from 12am-1am, which is the witching hour, and at the end of the hour, to summon the butcher. And then the next day went on.. Sabrina saw Harvey in school, and Hilda astral projected to Sabrina in front of Harvey telling her about the emergency meeting, and they had time to prepare against the butcher. But somehow, the next night, the witches were still there? While ms Wardwell was with Sabrina in the woods, and was with her before then when midnight struck? So she didn't summon the 13 witches a second time?
I'm completely confused by this, maybe this is a slip on the directors/scriptwriters part, but this is kind of a big error, especially if you have people actually paying attention.
