So who was the last juvenile to be recognized by the Academy … I believe we know who the next will be as young Buddy is the central character in this powerful yet simply presented film about the turbulent times in Northern Ireland. Written and directed by Kenneth Branagh, this is truly a self portrait of himself through young Buddy. A fine supporting cast with Jamie Dornan and Caitriona as Ma and Pa with Judi Dench and Ciara Hinds as Granny and Pop provide each in their own way support and and guidance at critical times. I would not be surprised if this film receives deserved praise at Oscar time as the academy has at many time recognized films as finely crafted and presented and through the eyes of Kenneth Branagh!! Go see it!!

Very riveting account about not only the plot of he said/she but also life in the 14th century. Life for most was miserable and mostly consisted of day-to-day survival. Adam Striver and Jodie Comer had the key roles and both delivered Oscar consideration roles. The “duel” as the climax and was well staged. I thought that describing history some 700 hundred years ago was very enlightened!
