The humour in the episodes can be rather mean, but the satire and rapid fire pace of visual and scripted jokes make for an entertaining series.
These characters are not the found family of the mystery machine, not yet, and there is no Scooby Doo, so if that's a problem then don't watch.
It is fun for what it is but I think it suffered from the network release schedule, though HBO giving us two a week certainly helped. I hope the Canadians just getting it give it a chance despite the criticisms.
I was not expecting episodes nine and ten (thought it was an eight episode run for some reason) and I think it rounds the series out nicely while leaving it open to more, they are still not the found family of the Mystery Machine, but they are a lot closer then when the series began.
Constance Wu, Sam Richardson, Glenn Howerton, and of course Mindy Kaling have brought us something that is a very adult take on a beloved franchise; I laughed, I liked it, and I would watch a second season.
