Spoiler Alert!! 1. Responsibility of this patriarchy society fall upon the next two son post father expire. One son is low on confidence (jobless) and didn't take responsibility. Everything falls upon Lalit. 2. Whenever someone close-by dies , it is heard that they usually dream of this person. In this case it was Lalit who has the dream of his father. Later Lalit regaining his ability to speak properly ( he lost his voice in an incident) , confirm his own belief about his father presence and also his family. 3. Whatever father used to say , Lalit ask family member to write down those in a dairy. Using the dairy , the family was guided about dos and don't. Usually it must be as per his dreams and later when dream becomes more clearer it was Lalit own thinking mixed in it. In short , it becomes a way to control the whole family. 4. Since all decision are by one person so their family prospered (same happened when Hitler took over Germany as a dictator in 1930s).As losses and missed opportunity are minimal due to no opposition. 5. In order to maintain the control , the authenticity of the dairy fortified time and again. Lalit have to perform different spiritual cult activites and prove the outcomes (usually planted ) that Father is still guiding the family. 6. Their last activity proved fatal. The idea was that their father will come and water colour place in the container will change ( this is planted). For this all family member ears , eyes , hand and legs to be tied while they are hanging ( thus noone can catch Lalit red handed while changing water colour). Also the activity is supposed to be over in 5 to 15 mins. 7. All family member are educated. No one will competely hang themselves. Thats why they were actually standing with their heels up. 5 to 15 mins standing with heels up is feasible although difficult. 8. What went wrong in this procedure is not clear. Lalit was suppose to protect them (remove their knots ). As what happened during the procedure we can only speculate. 9. My speculation : Lalit died during this activity and there is noone to rescue others
