The animated series gave us more of the finale into the show then this movie did, And even if we did wanna show, it wouldn’t be so much that it would have to surround dueling as it would be more so the personal relationships and growth of these characters. Like maybe Kaiba finally hanging out with his brother before he gets TOO OLD to care anymore! There’s so much to love about Yu-Gi-Oh! even if it’s just the dialogue alone. It’s so funny and also the right amount of self-aware when it comes to their friendship speeches, but not enough where it’s undermining or mean spiritedly mocking the show. This just felt like a cash grab and it did all the characters dirty but mainly Seto Kaiba. Kaiba was A character whose growth in the show was well appreciated, And to completely destroy that with his obsession with Finding Atem….like what?!?? After the event of the show the Pharoah should’ve stayed In the afterlife because that was the point of the entire temple, collapsing and destroying as well as burying the millennium items. What a slap in the face that was to Yugi and his whole growth characterization and the whole point of Karina AKNOWLIDING Yugi as the King of Games?!? and him building that gigantic tower with science? So we're destroying his ark of finally believing in magic, especially the magic that he has seen with his own eyes, But we're also destroying the canon in this universe because those items can't be simply Plugged up to a machine to make work! they are FUELED BY MAGIC!!!! Not to mention Bakura being possed , AGAIN?!??🤦‍♀️ So I just felt like a bad rehashing of all things we've done seen in the show. So definitely a mess and a thumbs down for me and I can't believe people actually like this? Maybe they haven't seen the show in a while so therefore they're going off of nostalgic memory that is 20 years old, but they definitely should've brushed up on it because nobody who saw the show and then saw this right after would ever say that this did any justice. After all these years, I’m still They Make Yugi and Tea more official😤?!???
