OUTER BANKS IS LEGIT THE BEST! AN AMAZING MIX BETWEEN THE O.C AND THE GOONIES! {Spoilers Ahead} Outer Banks is a mystery, teen drama focussed on a group of teenagers and their quest to find a sunken ship, claiming to house $400 million dollars in gold. This gets the attention of the local police and the rich, stuck up Kooks. It is a battle between the Kooks and our protagonists, being the Pogues, the poor and neglected other side of the island. Things change when a Pogue, John B hangs out with Kook Princess, Sarah Cameron. Soon enough, they fall in love with each other and it is a race of survival and getting that gold. Outer Banks breaks away from the typical and clichéd and instead has a great mix of mystery, action, love, drama, and humour. At first I thought It was going to be solely focused on John B and his hunt for the treasure but actually details every character and how they are all amazingly written. Pope has his life planned out and on his way to get his scholarship which he has high hopes for. JJ has many layers which is covered through the show, from his abuse from his father and the fact he really cares about his friends. He takes the fall multiple times and goes on adventures, bringing his humour and wittiness which shows a different side of JJ every time. Kie or Kiara is a fun loving, hippie gal who actually came from the rich side of the island. She hates the Kooks but towards the end shows her empathy for everyone who befriends her, no matter rich or poor. Finally, John B and Sarah Cameron. One of my favourite couples of all time. It takes some time, but both fall in love, madly in love with each other. Some of the scenes where they are romantically bonding are so wholesome and genuine. John B is there for Sarah and vice versa. The ending left so many questions unanswered and I actually can’t wait for Season 2. After watching OBX, it is really hard to start another series. But on the bright side, Sarah and John B's relationship is far by the best on any tv show. Its just amazing. It is a mix between The O.C and The Goonies.
