This movie was so well put together visually. Yes the story line isnt all fan service, but they are trying to build something here like the marvel cinematic universe. They created a story to try to appease mk fans and people who may not know the series. Take it as a movie based off the video game, not a movie that follows the video games. And yes they left out beloved characters, but they did this for the sake being able to keep the story going. Its a draw to get people to want to come back for another film.
