Its hard to watch a movie about the survival of humankind through the eyes of people that can't put aside their arrogance and self righteousness. Brilliant CGI and awesome SFX but.....really big BUT....I could not get past stupid characters that think about themselves when the world was in danger of being annihilated by monsters. I get it is just a movie but let's be real, if the world was in this much trouble....I'm going to give every ounce of my being to making sure our survival comes before my feelings. This for me is the reason I really disliked this movie. Too much "be cool" and not enough "be real". Just could not relate to any of the characters to like them enough to back em issall.

A movie that reminds me about the fact that we take too much for granted and not enough to heart. This movie tells of hate forced upon people through circumstance and forgiveness found amongst all that is morbid. Far too often we read about "this movie is cliche" and "that movie is one sided" or "I've seen it all before". Set aside your "I think......" and watch this movie san bias and see what it truly represents, which for me (as with every critic is subjective) is about what makes the human heart tick. Friendship, compassion, hurt, a sense of duty, and conviction. A film worth watching for those who take out the cynic and replace it with the human.
