Emily blunt did a pretty good performance, not living up to Julie Andrews, but still made the character of Mary poppins an iconic one. Lin Manuel Miranda did a really good job in my opinion (although I am a little biased because he’s Lin Manuel Miranda) I think that you don’t really need to watch the original to understand the whimsical, magical world of Mary Poppins. One issue is that the movie, and its songs, are on the long side. Also, I had a bit of an issue with the CGI effects in certain songs. The 2d animation part was pretty good though. Overall, it was enjoyable, with very good songs, length aside, magical and sometimes hilarious characters, the plot of the story and the irony of it, and of course, the performance of the main characters and the Banks were adequate.
