I really tried. Love the Nancy Drew books as a little girl and was inspired by her character. What I saw within minutes turned my stomach. There is a much better way to modernize these characters without losing their original stories. I was so looking forward to this and am sadly disappointed. Tried to even give it another try with episode 2, and it barely held my attention. As a grown woman now who still enjoys a good detective story with a female lead like Nancy, they should have asked those who write those styles of books for some ideas. Clearly the only thing they stood true to were their names, and not even to 100%. His name was Ned not Nick. The relationships between the characters meant something to us readers back then and you destroyed that aspect CW. There are ways to modernize and bring these characters into adulthood without trying to outdo Riverdale, which for that show it works. You could have even read Nancy's college year books for some insight if you wanted grown up. Needless to say, I will not continue with this show. It needs a major reboot already after episode 1 and an apology for what you turned a beloved classic series into!
