Very good. I've read the novel twice, most recently a few days ago. The movie is faithful to it. It captures the irreducible insanity of the protagonist.

Good "potted histories" of some aspects of US race crimes. Overly US-centric. Unclear about relationships between race-raza and cast- casta.
Eloquently written. False equivalency drawn between the Final Solution and US racism. Lacks depth of history and dynamics of Indian caste system.

Unique. It evoked many feelings about my late father and my own aging. I'm still absorbing the ending. I just finished watching, and sometimes I need to process things. I'm trying to feel out whether the movie struck a false note at the end. I won't go into detail on that to avoid a spoiler. Still, an excellent, moving experience.
