The backbone of a good story is there, but it's crushed under the weight of gratuitous, nostalgia inducing throwbacks to classic moments from the original trilogy. The pacing is relentless and by the end I was left confused, exhausted, and irritated by the lack of originality. I've gone to see every Star Wars film on the big screen since 1977, and I'm quite sure that this will be my last.
