Describing this film, with its harrowing themes, as brilliant does not seem appropriate but it was. It is difficult to fully understand something that you have not lived but this film comes close to explaining it. I was totally moved by all the performances. What wonderful acting. I must read the book now and will recommend to everyone that they watch the film.
