I never leave reviews, but I’m shocked at how low the rating is for this movie. It was a great movie. This movie was, unlike Dennis, so real. I really appreciated it not romanticizing a man who lies about everything he is to impress a girl. Every other movie is like “Oh, but he lied because he loves you.” “Oh, but he lied because he was intimidated by you.” “Oh but he lied because you were too hard on him.” “You should feel bad for him. He’s insecure. He just wants to be good enough for you.” No. It’s not the woman who is at fault when a man lies. And you tell the truth when you love someone. And in most movies, after the guy gets caught lying, the girl just forgives the lying and it’s happily ever after. But there’s no happily ever after with that kind of stuff in real life. It’s totally unhealthy to show that constantly. Most of the time in real life it’s pathological lying and only telling the truth when you get caught. This movie hit close to home for me.
