It's concerning when the only complaint you have about the game is that it doesn't change on later playthroughs. This was my first dark souls-esque game, and I couldn't be happier to have started here. The idea of a game completely circumventing the idea of blocking in favour of parrying and dodging is unappreciated genius. The game feels quick, fluid and visceral. Even weak enemies can kill you with one combo, so the game demands mastery. Central Yharnam is undebatably the greatest tutorial I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing, and the bosses. Mmm, the bosses. Gascoigne, Vicar Amelia, Amygdala, Martyr Logarius, Gherman and the moon presence just to name a few. This game blatantly perfects boss making. Every one of them feels unique and horrifying in their own way, from the almost duel with father Gascoigne to the near titan sized battle with amygdala, this game never ceases to amaze. And the weapons are spectacular, feeling distinguished and unique, all with their own special movesets and transformations. If you haven't had the please, no, the experience to play this masterpiece, I couldn't recommend it more. Please, more people need to enjoy this
