Please stay away from these classics now….gen z doing its best to tear down a classic franchise. The formidable xenomorph got a backside whoopin off a 14 year old girl who needed a lesson on how to operate the weapon 5 mins prior. Not just one xenomorph, she wiped out an entire tribe in about a minute. Alien Romulus has turned the feared alien into an absolute pussy cat, to the point it became the underdog to a 14 year old and I was rooting for it lol.

It’s a poor movie this, more depressing than scary. The first 40 mins are just a very long and depressing introduction of the family involved. The mother comes across as a truly diabolical person who seems to hate everything and everyone, including her own kids and her own mother. She actually racially abuses her own mum on the hour mark, a change from beating her kids I suppose. The characters are uninteresting but mum is unlikeable and this is integrated into a depressing and dull ‘horror’

A movie which genuinely makes you pause and think after watching it, the main thought being, I’ll never get those 90 minutes back. The story begins with a suicidal lady (Lisa) lying in a road, not too long after a car turns up with a man driving who asks the stricken mademoiselle if she would like a ride, oh and also asks why are you lying in a road, right.. Our lead character declines the ride, as she might be suicidal but you can never be too sure who you can trust these days. After a little more dialogue the car starts to drive off, but wait, we have a change of heart, maybe Lisa’s inner dialogue tells her a serial killer offering a ride is exactly what a suicidal person needs… So now we have a fully fledged hitchhike taking place and small talk starts to flow, the usual stuff, our driver explains he hates people and our lead character, explains just why she’s suicidal. A genuinely sad moment as she explains that it’s down to the death of her daughter, this is the only part of the movie that makes sense by the way. Anyway enough of the small talk, maybe a little music, unfortunately for our driver, instead of a Stevie Wonder classic, it’s a news report and description of a wanted man, and yeah, our driver is a serial killer. A little struggle begins, because if there’s one thing a suicidal person wants to avoid it’s being killed, so as she fights for her life, the car crashes… Lisa awakens, in a claustrophobic tube labyrinth from hell, surely this has to be the work of the serial killer, right? Maybe he’s built this place at the bottom of the garden? Wrong! Turns out he’s trapped too! *Spoiler Alert- Lisa attempts to escape the torturous and trap ridden labyrinth, taking some serious damage along the way. She then kills the serial killer and we learn just whose behind this tubed hell! It’s aliens of course! Seems so obvious now. Whatever next…yeah she’s bumps into her dead daughter, you heard me! We finally reach the end of this dross when Lisa finally completes the labyrinth and is rewarded with another catch up with her daughter and they live happily ever after on a nondescript alien planet, THE END.

Dying light 2 Is brilliant, interesting environment and backdrop, class graphics and engaging characters and dialogue, all are on point. I’ve not read the review bombers, probably the hard core gamers that don’t like the fact dying light 2 is playable. They hate casual gamers enjoying and completing video games, preferring titles like Returnal, were you need a phd in gaming to complete it, makes them feel special. Anyway Dying Light 2 is a really good game, much better than other open world games like Far Cry 6.

I found Far Cry 6 a bit of a let down if I’m totally honest, maybe because I had such high expectations after previous instalments from the franchise were so good. The graphics were great, no complaints, the environment was cool, the gameplay was standard far cry procedure, which I do like, so it seemed all gravy. The problems began, with the storyline and the characters, I thought it all was dull, they were boring and uninteresting. Far Cry 5 had psychopathic cult leaders with magical powers to conquer, it was genuinely intriguing and enjoyable, it was unpredictable and you wanted to see what came next. Far Cry 6 storyline was the opposite, it was boring and predictable, there are more interesting stories happening on the news in real life, and this is supposed to be a video game. You can cope with repetitive game play, which far cry has let’s face it, if the storyline is interesting and you feel you’re apart of it, that’s the motivation to carry on and succeed. Far Cry 6 doesn’t have that. Why? Let me introduce you to Anton Castillo, played by Giancarlo Esposito the main villain, evil dictator on the fictional island of Yara. He epitomised this dreadfully boring storyline, he was horribly dull, it was a dead pan performance. A performance similar to Breaking Bad, but without Breaking Bads amazing storyline and other great characters to make up for him, it failed to offer any interest, at any point. Predictable gameplay joined a predictable storyline, In a addition to a boring villain, given a boring script, played by a one dimensional actor. The character you play was ok, Dani..fairly likeable, some of the other “good guys” along the way weren’t particularly likeable or interesting and definitely not funny. The political agenda I expected from this franchise but they’ve notched it up a few levels in Far Cry 6. Anti American doesn’t do it Justice, it’s downright hateful towards America from the get go. Im not American I’m English but I felt uncomfortable with the relentless anti American rhetoric/hate and felt it was both unfair and uncalled for, changed from a 3 star game to 2 star because of it. Anyway, to conclude, a disappointment…Far Cry instalments need good storylines and characters and sadly Far Cry 6 just doesn’t have them. Oh and I can’t forget to add, the Danny Trejo bonus mission was a joke, your playing your part in a Trejo’s Tacos advert and nothing else, absolutely shameless.
