If you read a bad review on this game... They are incredibly wrong. If that’s an opinion about one thing they didn’t like then that’s on them. Please, listen to me when I say I’ve been a TRUE Assassins Creed fan since AC1. I have completed them all and have seen the rise and fall of some gameplay mechanics, storytelling moments, and glitches. Assassins Creed (as with most games) has some of these. Black Flag is the exception. Before you had the leveling of Unity, Origins, and Odyssey; you had this. A game that can be catered to the most die hard fan as well as to the casual gamer who only intends to have a good time without worrying about being so outmatched. I played this game without upgrading most things with the occasional Jackdaw upgrade (your ship) and got by nicely. The story of this game is where it really shines. A headstrong and fearless man who wishes to make something of his life believing he will find it in riches and stature but is proven so very wrong. Though his motives are selfish he always has good in him that shines through his words and conviction. Edward Kenway who you play as is one of the most liked characters you can play as with an eye for adventure. Upon reading some negative reviews there is so much that can be proven wrong about if they just played the game not expecting a Witcher sized story. This game for when it was made to what it is now holds up absolutely strong with its beautiful scenery, heartfelt characters, and easy to learn gameplay. There’s nothing quite calming like commanding your own vessel while hearing your crew sing sea shanties while you navigate to your next destination. If you want a grand adventure, Assassins Creed IV Black Flag is where you while find a simple yet gorgeous treasure.
