dave offers almost no new insights. if you listen to his show at all, nothing new will be in this book. aside from the lack of original thought, the thought that is in this book is sparse and anemic. he constantly asks, indirectly, that the reader already be on board with his ideas because he offers no arguments or reasons why he or his “closeted right wing ideas” are preferable or correct. it reads less like a persuasive book or essay and more like a confessional between two buddies after a night of drinking complaining about how the left doesn’t tolerate their ideas while never advocating for any of them. i hate to say it, but rubin comes across as extremely whiny and the very snowflake type he constantly berates. terrible book, if i could give 0 stars i would. the right needs to put forth better spokespeople because this is embarrassing.
