PAHD fails to impress as its predecessor. Sadly the Pannu-Massey duo ignites no flame in comparison to Kaushal on an individual character sketch. He is stronger, meaner and more diabolical than the two combined.
With loads of loopholes larger than the previous one, PAHD feels repetitive, desperate and seems to have taken too many shortcuts in its screenplay time. With an introduction to new characters (Shirgill and Kaushal) and a plot revolving in a new city, the team fails to capture the deception that once stood a pillar in the Rani-Rishu impactful romance.
Questions unanswered still remain -
1. How does Rishu manage to be a swiggy / zomato delivery guy with the police on his tail?
2. He also ends up being a tuition teacher / professor of some sort at the start of the film... New Job Prospect, I presume?
3. How lame is the Indian Police Force to miss a suspect criminal (Rishu - at the time in the bazaar, At the bridge, During Ranis Second Wedding, do I keep on going?)on a repetitive mode, are they this lousy?
4. Pannu doesn't seem seductive, irritable or head strong like she was in the previous film. Its like she is out of character. Did a hiatus of 3 years make her more boring, slow and uninteresting than before?
5. And most importantly, where are Rishu's parents? Did they run away into hiding as well post their son's supposed death?
6. Mrutyunjay (Shirgill) says that he danced frivolously at Rani-Rishu's wedding throwing notes in the air? (Did you recall seeing him at the previous film?)
7. So many more pointers... but still...
To sum-up, PAHD lacks the pace, wit and entice that made its predecessor a revisit on Netflix.
