This was a nuanced script with multiple character development building to the end, the fulfillment of the opening dialogue. I don’t want to say too much more on that. Very cleverly accomplished film about complicated themes explored with confidence by the filmmakers. Gorgeous scenery and last gasp of the cowboy life on horseback. Costumes were sport on as well. Well done by all involved in this film!

Spain has surpassed all other countries in producing a thoughtful, nuanced, humorous and action paced series with the realism rarely found in in other countries, especially in the US. No character is without depth, comment to the role or ability to pull off complicated stunts and present a realistic dialogue.

Loved the costumes so authentic to the time and the soundtrack also. I didn’t think I would stick with it but glad I did. Complete with lots of pill box hats, gloves stockings and fine tailored suits. Good use of hair and makeup completes this stylish piece. Joe Alwyn was miscast. He is capable of so much more.

Another great soap opera from Spain. Really enjoyed watching it.

Unusual subject matter handled with finesse. Five stars! Terrific acting, music, sets and cohesive story line. So glad I binge watched it.

Sad, funny, gripping and all around really good yarn, Texas style. Tight filmmaking all around. Beautiful scenery of parched West Texas and of towns on the verge of non existence. America 21st century issues included.

Could have had more editing for coherent story line. Acting A+ for all actors. Music was A+. Loved B ‘s and her great voice who nailed Etta James!,,,,! Really great role for her. ’ !!! AdrianBrody had a somewhat weak part but carried it. The other key personalities depicting black musicians of the budding era of rock and roll/soul were equally impressive! Just needed a bit of polishing to make it stellar. I really liked it!

I rarely watch a movie twice but, I found this interpretation of Protestant Pilgrim archetype overwhelmingly believable. The authenticity of the setting, characters and story seemed a chilling look at what our ancestors must have gone through during the 17th century in the new world. The ending is worthy of a Quinten Tarantino film. I don’t want to give a synopsis of the end. I, in essence, that it was super.

Satire at it’s finest. Just could not stop watching. So few Hollywood products are able to make fun of themselves. Very refreshing and sly, delicious humor! Will look forward to part ll where the setting l be N.Y.

This is one of the most crappy series out of the Hollywood tradition, aka Will Farrell et al, that I suffered through for more episodes than I should have pulled the plug on! I am not going into much detail because this series does not deserve much elaboration. Simple plot, the wooden characters, the theme, the use of balloons (guess what, releasing balloons is no longer cool in 2019!) most important is that the story just can not hang together and should be canned at the earliest possible moment. The use of the phrase “I’m sorry” about a hundred or more times is all I can say about it. Forget it!!
