A24 has a solid track record when it comes to slow, bizarre horror, so I went in expecting something hard to understand but creepy and compelling. I was seriously disappointed. It feels like a thirty minute short film stretched out to one hundred minutes, and yet it comes to a sudden, profoundly dissatisfying ending that makes it feel incomplete. It’s a real shame.
