Darun.Left mesmerized. This film happening to be the third of Aparna Sen's directorial works happens to undoubtedly be one of the best films I have ever watched. The film speaks for itself by showcasing the various elements of marriage and divorce.Unbelievably realistic film so much so that the audience would get tears in their eyes at certain times. The film starts with Paromita who is Sanaka's daughter in law and soon after marriage she gives birth to Bablu a child with cerebral palsy much like her sister in law Khuku who is schizophrenic and how she is rebuked for giving birth to a disabled child by her husband until Sanaka reminds him that his very own sister too is disabled so who's to be blamed here.Following that Paromita's son passes away one day.And she too finds out her husband is cheating on her and thus falls in love with Rajeev Shrivastava who happens to be a filmmaker making film on disabled children and thus she eventually falls in love with him, takes up a job and gets a divorce from.Biru her first husband.Later when Sanaka is on her deathbed she comes back.to nurse her friend who eventually passes away and she moves on with her life. The film explores the unusual flip side of the situation where she is friends with her mother in law and understands her sister in law like no other.A must watch all in all if one is into parallel cinema and elsewise too.
