I just happen to browse channels when i stumbled across this movie. At first i thought it was a movie i saw many years ago about 2 officers, one black, one white shot & neither made it thru emergency service. The white officer had a state funeral, the black looked like an ordinary service. This movie had me rolling boil angry with the interrogation, forceful beatings just because & coverups. I was angry with the director of this movie until i did further research & as it unfolded i can only give her a lot of credit to try to depict america even today. Injustices continue, racist attorneys try to put witnesses on trial, judges hobnobbing with jurors to persuade one way or the other, if most people would sit still long enough to see this movie in its entirety without wriggling in their skin they will see things a lot differently. You have some great police out there who took their oaths gravely & live up to their honor too many others hide behind the badge as a coward because they carry a weapon, & then they wonder why most people dont like or trust them. As the saying goes ill reword it this way, the sins of those former officers wil be visited on the cops of today, even into the generations to come unless the top brass clean the slate once & for all. Even some white women at the time was abused enough to scar the mind for years. I have no damn respect for lippit, a true bigot in the worse sense of a human being with no soul until he burns in hell, same with the ringmaster palline himself if he isnt serving in hell yet. The movie is raw, like a grisly scene if you saw actual images of raw executions like beheadings the world sees except america because america cannot stomach REALITY, which is what the movie is all about.
