Great story line but far to much waffle and too many characters introduced too quickly made it very hard to keep track of who they were as the story swung back to them, the last quarter was far better once the main characters stood out. If you like Tolkiens style of writing and space opera's give it a read, I'm not sure if I am going to continue with the trilogy.
