It's awakened my love and respect for army and doctors along with that pure hope in love. Every character is layered, every sub-story is inter linked. It speaks of friendship, honour, courage, love and destiny. The writing, the direction, the editing, the music, the locations, the cast - everything is at its best. The detailing of body language, cultures of their respective fields and everything is such that the show should be studied in the media course. In 16 hours, the show affected me in a way it can't be expressed. In my mind, I was a part of them, I lived with them in that world for a long long while. Inspite of being an Indian who is not versed with their language, culture and worlds... Inspite of being a filmmaker who knows it is all created... It felt so real as if I belonged.

Joker - 2/5 stars Hated the film SPOILER ALERT I didn't go after reading the reviews or any opinions. I went with a blank slate to experience it my way and honestly, I hated the movie, majorly because of the joker himself. In the start itself, we see JOKER being bullied and beaten with an immediate sympathy music track in the BG. The character didn't build, rather reached the base directly. I didn't feel anything for joker, no sympathy, no hoot, no suffocation. Instead I cringed through out the film, I CRINGED, waiting for it to end, not because the character was such or he killed people mercilessly. I understand the intent of every action but his nuances seemed so force. His dance move, his psychopathic attitude were poorly portrayed. His medical condition of bursting into laughter and him trying to control was almost always same. It was like FORCING THE CHARACTER TO BE ICONIC AND PUSHING IT TO BE CALLED A PIECE OF ART but it failed for me. I could relate to the movie's premise, how the conditions affected the poor and how unemployment took over the era but the character was shallow. Two stars for the effort and the side cast.
