Bill Maher rightly ridiculed fake news for the entire 4 years of Trump. So, why were Bret Weinstein and Heather Heytling, guests of Maher, spewing fake news without a retort? During the interview Maher said that a lab source for the Covid-19 virus was a 10% chance and Weinstein "corrected"(?) Maher, saying it was the reverse, a 90%-10% in favor of a lab escape. Weinstein also said the Wuhan live animal market was not involved, even though there are scientific data to support the market connection. This pair presented no evidence and it was fake news. Indeed, there is a bat virus lab in Wuhan, the lab of virologist Zheng-Li Shi, She has been investigating bat viruses since the first coronavirus outbreak in 2003, an appropriate and worthy endeavor to try and learn more about these viruses. Importantly, there is a WHO investigating team in Wuhan now that will look into the multiple possible links to the coronavirus outbreak. Claiming a lab source with 90-10 certainty, without evidence, is no better than Trump's unsupported claims. Please Bill, don't let fake news go unchallenged.
