It's not a bad movie at all but it's nothing like the books in so many ways that it becomes a hole different story to the point it's just people with powers who happen to have the same names. That go to a school that Nory wasn't excepted to in the book.(sorry for the spoilers if your planning to read the book). Also Nory doesn't have siblings in the movie, which for some reason makes me extremely mad.
