While a bit overhyped, this film offers a unique take on horror with its 70s talk show setting, reminiscent of the era when such ritualistic themes were prevalent. However, some special effects were disappointing, such as the peculiar white ghost of Madeleine and the unconvincing head splitting and electric arcs.
The acting was good, but the ending felt muddled and lacked impact. It didn’t provide enough details on how and when the character ended up in his final situation (I'm not sure but that part felt like it lacked something), and it failed to deliver the level of horror I was expecting.
It felt more like a piece of music with a promising buildup but a disappointing drop.
