I love the music and the dancing in this movie was phenomenal! The singing was excellent with Jennifer Hudson doing an exceptional job...it brought me to tears. Being able to watch the special features added another dimension: how the props had to be 4 1/2 times larger than normal to give more of the cats' perspective, how they used digital fur technology and had the ears react emotionally (back when angry, etc), and how they had well known dancers as well as actors. One must remember that these characters are based on T.S. Eliot's 1939 book OLD POSSUM'S BOOK OF PRACTICAL CATS so the story is very simple with each character given a chance to either sing, dance or sing and dance.
