At first watch it was just fun visuals. I watch all the main Netflix films repeatedly bc of my 2 year old, and once he came around recently to re- watching this one again and again, it grew on me even more.
It is truly rare in any film, but especially a "kids movie", to see a girl who is as angry and at times, as unlikable, as the main character can be. But she's well rounded and ultimately the choices she makes are relatable and really make the movie.
The message, "Don't let the bad memories prevent you from making good ones. " is a unique but powerful message for anyone. Adults and kids alike.
Also great voice acting and casting!
