I wanted to like this, I really did. Ex Machina was glorious, so my high hopes may have admittedly played a factor in why I found this incredibly lack luster. There were so many overused tropes in this movie (one ~edgy~ woman swears a bunch and turns against the others? If I had a nickel for every time I rolled my eyes....) and I felt like it plodded on for a gruesome four hours rather than the two it actually was. It takes some poor writing to make two big name actors like Portman and Isaac seem so lifeless and boring. Also I've seen children in Campbell's soup commercials put more emotion into their roles than the actress playing the psychologist did. Graphics were cool, but not a large enough pro to outweight the many, many cons. 2/10. Made me want to explode myself like Oscar Isaac did.
