I found the film very watchable, the story line was good, acting first class. It really keeps your attention. I felt it brought up important themes in a new way, such as arranged marriages and woman's place in a marriage. I liked the interactions of the supporting characters such as the mother and father in law. There were comedic elements too. Authentic scenes between the lovers and understandable how such a situation could arise. I found it moving when the husband and wife finally fall in love. I thought the story was good. Some people focus on the unrealistic side of how the husband can swim the river with a severed hand but you have to allow for poetic licence and it symbolises the redemptive power of love. I watch a lot of Indian films and found this one of the best.
