What made me looooove watching Project Runway (PR) was the designers…..not the judges and not even the clothes. I was invested in the contestants…period. PR spent more time on the struggles, the behind the scenes cat fights, and the intimate moments along the journey. If you also loved that aspect, you will feel short changed with Making the Cut (MTC). At the end of the day, viewers need to feel connected to the designer. On the plus side, if you see something you love on MTC, you can buy it right away on Amazon.
I don’t get the seamstress thing: how are you designing clothes if you can’t sew? If MTC wanted to include seamstresses, they could have done it in a more creative way than the designers throwing their stuff in a garment bag with a note. (Possibly because of COVID?)
Final assessment: this is a TV show…..I have to be invested to keep tuning in.
