Sooryavanshi, a film within the Rohit Shetty’s Police universe of screw loose cops that will do anything for the greater good. Now on paper it sounds like a great idea even marketed for people who love chor police sequences. However, this film has expectations that are absurd. The script writing was abysmal in their effort to invoke nationalism and unity with their freeze frames. A script is the the layout of the film which showcases a beginning middle and end. This movie starts with a flashback, then a beginning, another flashback, again a beginning and a flashback, and then the prolonged end. The script lacked in many ways to let the plot unfold, it was a chaotic film, compared to movies like BABY, HOLIDAY, and A Wednesday. It seemed like the team wanted to make a serious movie but we’re pressured to add spices of comedy, love, and musical elements. The acting other than the action sequences were not well rehearsed. You can see the flaws when the actors are forcing to depict emotions to their character. On the positive side the locations wide framed shots were done well, and the team did not blow up too many cars this time around, the vfx were also tolerable. In conclusion this film required a better writer who could have made a better impact to the film’s construction. Humbly if you are making such films it would prove more impactful to use less songs and adding less tadka to your already fruitful content.
