This book reminded me of my plus two days in school. For our final project we were asked to study environmental adaptations in xerophytes and hydrophytes. That time we went through many research books in botany. After those days this is the first time I am reading something related to botanical research.
Author has a vast knowledge about flora with a research back up. A well organised book about the challenges plants face - both biotic and abiotic. He also explains about the impact of environmental changes in plants. He also mentions about the government initiatives for afforestration and farming . Most of the theories are explained by linking to a real example so that we can easily correlate.
I have gone through the basics of response of plants towards light, water and temperature in school days. The book gives detailed insights about various factor. I was so surprised while reading the fact that magnetic fields have impact on plants.
.
Those who doesn't have basic knowledge in botany will feel the book bit dry and difficult. If you know some basic things about the topic you can easily navigate through the book.
