Strong performances and brilliant rug pulling twists genre brilliantly and messes with your expectations
A lot of the negative reviews simply didn’t get it. This is an intelligent and deep film that will really stand the test of time as a commentary on our messed up world. Where heroes are chucked on the scrapheap and a father who loves his children can be flippantly called a “family annihilator” - a real commentary on the American machine and how it utterly dehumanises.
It’s both terrifying and warm. Top notch.
