Disney took their already-very-different version of the book, and decided to make this animated version based on that. They removed every single thing they could to make the plot work. This is obviously a cash-grab movie. The animation was boring, the jokes were dull, and so many important characters were left out almost completely (Frank/Chirag/Rodrick), or completely (Penny/Angie)
