How not to adapt a horror novel!

This was so "over the top" that I could scratch the surface of the moon..

That one's a bullet straight to the head..beautiful will be an understatement

this is "let the right one in" post puberty(the original is a fantastic childhood romantic horror and this is NOT an outright copy)..! there are elements in the film that are appreciable and had the director taken a different approach the film would've been a really good one, but stupid plot decisions and conventional execution make you wanna say "hmm hmm..kaaku...kola khaabe??"

A solid old school crime thriller..the editing is reminiscent of "Klute"..

A mixture of lovecraft's "the lurking fear" and "a cure for wellness" (though "a cure.." is a much better film) the film does not deserve such low ratings. Certain things could have been better but still it's not a bad movie, imperfect yes, certain things unclear yes, but worth a watch. I will give this 3 Daano's out of 5.

Part lovecraftian and part lynchian horror...

Good story.. Bad screenplay..Hard to believe that this is the guy who wrote "the orphanage". I'll blame it on Hollywood..maybe the studio interfered..it has ruined the career of good directors in the past like nimrod antal, the Blade era Guillermo del Toro and now Sergio G Sanchez.

We don't get to see too many nordic horror films.."nordic noir" is what we are more accustomed to. I guess it's high time they made more good horror films such as this, and "let the right one in", "when animals dream" etc. This is good..unfolds in the style of a noir and then hits you full in the face.

This could be a neo noir-ish film..but the black comic undertones were equally good..and John hawkes..guy's good!
