MK1 had a great release and showed alot of potential. With the release of the later DLC characters however, the game has plummeted in terms of balance and enjoyment. To make matters worse, the DLC which includes characters that any competitive player needs in order to learn matches, is $50. This is the price of a new game and is prohibitive for many fans. As a long time fan, I was disappointed and switched to the much better balanced/ managed Street Fighter 6.

As if the base game wasn't already a masterpiece, this DLC has managed to enhance the experience! Truly rewarding if you are willing to put in the effort.

Brilliant game, great story, satisfying combat. The game is really a 9 out of 10 more than a 4 out of 5 but has flaws. The post game is extremely monotonous largely due to the fact that enemies don't respawn. Their are several missed opportunities such as no skill tree for barefist even though certain armors encourage this play style. And their is no opportunity to revisit boss fights so you need an entire replay to try a different build etc.

This game is a masterpiece and is literally one of the best games ever made. As a veteran however on NG+4 I have a few suggestions I would love to see implemented. 1. The ability cash in runes on the level up screen. 2. The beginning of the game in NG+ should be more difficult. Margit and Godrick are a joke in NG+ but are great fights in terms of mechanics. 3.Melanias Water Fowl has too many active frames and is near impossible to dodge consistantly at melee range even with ample time to respond. The few ways to avoid the move are unintuitive or very niche and severely detract from an otherwise epic fight. ( I have killed her five times and still feel this way.) Looking forward to future content.

Strong concepts and ahead of its time, this game is unpolished, and unnecessarily cruel however. The difficulty is not the issue, the gimmicks and set backs are not enjoyable. Later games from Fromsoftware were more difficult yet simultaneously more enjoyable.

The practice mode in this game is a joke and it holds the game back. Not having a realistic way to practice punishes etc. Feels dated and lazy.

Excellent example of a roguelike, immense replay value.

The aesthetics are great, storyline is fine, soundtrack is solid and gameplay is good near the end. I experienced a very frustrating period in which I was missing an ability which prevented the advancement of the game and it marred my experience.
