This is an extraordinary production that blends present with past actions, cause and effect in an organic process that mirrors the workings of the consciousness. While it tells the story of a double murder, it delves into the hearts and psyches of the killers by fading present actions into recollections of the past. The editing is so deft that we see the memories of the characters as they perform actions in the present. More than one story is being told on the screen at one time but we are never confused about what tense we are watching. This is complex, intricate story telling at its artistic best.
