The movie is a great depiction of one of the many issues immigrants face in foreign country and while doing that it also tackles some of the deep rooted mistakes of indian culture in "men as husbands"
I was shocked to learn the facts that about 1500 kids are taken away each year and most cases are unexplained, so many stories on internet.
The movie isnt boring or fun, but really shocks you to know the suffering of a person. Its a good watch on ott.
Details of story line review-
Norway vs mrs Chatterjee shows norway welfred in extreme low light and the fact that this was true really makes the audience empathize with the character of devika and makes you likely never to go to norway .
Devikas character represents the mental states of most of indian mothers. Many might feel she lost her composure and if she wouldnt have she would have gotten her kids. But she did just what any women would do to get her kids specially when her husband isnt trying hard enough. Its important to understand it's ok to be not okay sometimes and we must be given a chance to deal with our emotional states rather than labelling "mentally unfit" Reasons shown in the movie for taking away kids from parents and not giving a chance of rectification speak for a very flawed system .
The fathers side of story felt incomplete. How did he give up his children ,just for career money? They should have interviewed him and shown some more on his end .
When norway govt gave custody to uncle he could have not been a horrible person n let the kids unite with mother in india but devika struggle was not just with norway . It was with her dominating husband and repugnant in laws aswell.
The movie leaves you with lots of questions and concerns , wanting for answers. Really hope this gives the message out.
