While this film was enjoyable in terms of action and adventure, it was terrible in regards to true fans of the Star Wars saga. This movie - this whole trilogy, in fact - completely gives the middle finger to fans of the OT and hurls all of the old legacy characters out the window in favor of one who is not only related to the main villain, but also has no character arc whatsoever. This is the final movie of the trilogy and I still have no idea what on earth is going on, and for every one answer the movie gives, it raises a hundred questions.
Additionally, this film is also very fast-paced; the reason for this is so that it can cover up all of the major plot holes - which are a lot, mind you - and have no one notice. Personally, I love fast, action-packed movies, so I initially enjoyed this film when I got out of the theater. However, when I actually thought about the film after sleeping on it for a couple days, I realized that it actually made no sense at all. I fell into the 'stunning JJ Abrams visuals' trap, only thinking about how good it looked versus how it actually fit into the story.
If I had to choose one word for this movie - and its two predecessors - I would choose: fanfiction.
