The show is good overall, but over the top virtue signalling ruins most of the plot.
The show overdoes three things to the point that you are left wandering the intent of the producers -
1. Black American community representation: Which before anyone labels me as a racist, hear me out. I don't mind it all, the screenplay is very enjoyable and I can say that most of them did a good job. But the integration of the characters is kind of done in a very arbitrary manner to the point that, you are left wandering if it was done just for the sake of doing so. There is clearly lack of focus here and it could've been integrated so much better.
2. Representation of the LGBTQ community: Ok there is literally like no straight adult scenes in the show. And what little is there, is very taboo. For example, a young intern being seduced by a company president, which works fine for a porn plot, but not here in the least. The amount of gay and lesbian adult scenes takes unashmed precedence, to the point that they ignored balancing it.
3. White people = bad, child molestors or villains: I think the the heading explains it all. Just watch and take note.
Overall, I love the story, I love most of the characters, but I do feel that the inherent virtue signalling takes away from the show, rather than adding to it. The integration of the various parts of the greater society is done in a very forced manner, which is a real shame, because the show in itself is decent.
